Car Servicing

Here’s what our service schedule entails:

• We’ll fit seat covers and floor mats for added comfort and protection.
• We’ll make note of any customer comments or additional work requests.
• We’ll carefully check and ensure that all vehicle details are complete and accurate.
• We’ll thoroughly inspect the lighting systems to ensure they’re functioning properly and securely.
• We’ll check the switches and dials to make sure they’re operating correctly.
• We’ll assess the condition of the auxiliary belt.
• We’ll examine the cooling system for any leaks.
• We’ll test and record the strength of the antifreeze, topping up the coolant level if necessary.
• Our team will assess the battery condition and record the findings.
• We’ll also test and record the alternator charge rate.
• To ensure clear visibility, we’ll top up the windscreen washer bottle with screen wash fluid.
• We’ll check the windscreen wiper operation and their overall condition.
• Our technicians will check and record the brake fluid boil point.
• We’ll inspect the brake lines and hoses for any signs of damage or wear.
• A rolling road brake efficiency test will be performed and a detailed report will be provided.
• We’ll carefully check the steering joints and linkages.
• The front and rear suspension components will be examined for optimal performance.
• We’ll also check the axle and gearbox oil levels, adjusting them if necessary.
• The engine oil and filter will be replaced to keep the engine running smoothly.
• Our team will assess the tyre’s condition and provide a detailed report on tread depths.
• To ensure safe and efficient driving, we’ll adjust the tyre pressures.
• The exhaust system will be thoroughly checked for any issues and secured properly.
• We’ll conduct a road test to ensure all vehicle systems are functioning correctly.
• Throughout the process, we’ll also measure the antifreeze strength, brake fluid boil point, alternator charge rate, battery voltage drop test, and tyre tread depths.

Finally:

• We’ll remove the seat covers and floor mats, and re-check the oil and coolant levels for your peace of mind.
• Any greasy marks on the bodywork will be carefully checked and cleaned.
• We’ll stamp your service book to maintain a complete record of the service.
• Our team will diligently complete the service sheet and job card to ensure all tasks are properly documented.
• We aim to provide a comprehensive service while keeping your vehicle in excellent condition.

Preparation

• Install seat covers and floor mats.
• Take note of any customer comments or additional work requests.
• Ensure vehicle details are accurate and complete.

Inside the Vehicle

• Verify the operation of switches, gauges, warning lights, dash lights, and the horn.
• Check the clutch operation and make adjustments if necessary (if applicable).
• Inspect washer and wiper functionality and adjust if needed.
• Verify handbrake operation and adjust if necessary.
• Reset the service interval indicator (if applicable).
• Check the operation and condition of seat belts.

Outside the Vehicle

• Verify the operation of door check straps and lubricate if necessary.
• Lubricate door and bonnet hinges.
• Inspect tyre condition and pressures (including spare), and record tread depths.

Under the Bonnet

• Check the operation of the engine compartment lamp (if applicable).
• Inspect all visible wiring, pipes, and hoses for proper routing, damage, chafing, and leaks.
• Examine the engine, vacuum pump, heater, and radiator for any damage or leaks.
• Check spark plugs and replace them if necessary (additional cost may apply).
• Assess the condition of the auxiliary drive belts.
• Check and record the concentration of antifreeze in the coolant.
• Top up coolant, power steering, washer fluid, brake fluid, and battery fluid levels as needed.
• Check and record alternator charge rate and battery drop test results.
• Inspect the pollen filter and replace it if necessary (additional cost may apply).
• Inspect the air filter and replace it if necessary (additional cost may apply).

Under the Vehicle

• Drain engine oil and replace the oil filter.
• Check steering, suspension linkages, ball joints, drive shaft joints, and gaiters for damage, wear, security, and rubber deterioration.
• Top up gearbox and axle oil levels and check for damage and leaks.
• Inspect pipes, hoses, oil and fuel feed lines, and exhaust for proper routing, damage, chafing, and leaks (if visible).
• Assess the general condition of the underbody.

Brakes

• Remove wheels/drums and inspect brake pads, discs, linings, brake cylinders, and drums for condition.
• Check rubber components for deterioration.
• Test braking efficiency on a rolling road and record the results.

Outside the Vehicle

• Inspect for any bodywork and paint damage.
• Verify the operation of all lights and check the headlamp beam pattern and aim.
• Check the operation of the luggage compartment lamp (if applicable).
• Tighten wheel nuts to the correct torque.

Road Test

• Perform a road test to ensure the proper function of all vehicle systems.

Finally

• Remove seat covers and floor mats.
• Recheck oil and coolant levels.
• Inspect and clean any greasy marks from the bodywork.
• Stamp the service book.
• Complete the service sheet and job card.
